Worx robotic mower does not start (troubleshooting guide)
If the Worx robotic mower won’t start, you have a problem in your yard. Or quite a lot of effort: namely, when you have to mow the lawn by hand. Fortunately, however, all is not immediately lost, but there is hope. And solutions. In the following sections you will find a point by point procedure on how to get your Worx robotic lawnmower started again. Good luck!
Step 1: Check the power supply of the charging station
Check that the charging station is receiving power. If not, the cause may be in several places: First, check if the cable is tight both at the charging station and at the power connection. Then check that the power connection is live. If not, then check the fuse. Then check the cable to the charging station: if it is damaged, order a replacement cable. Finally, it may also be due to the elctronics of the charging station. Then this must be replaced.
Step 2: Check the condition of the battery
Check if the indicator light is on when charging. If so, the charger should be OK. If no, check the internal fuse of the charger. If the battery is older, it may be worn out. In this case, order a new battery.
Step 3: Check the boundary wire (Not relevant for GSP-controlled robotic lawnmowers)
The boundary wire must be correctly connected to the charging station. If this is the case, check if the boundary wire is damaged somewhere: if an animal has bitten it or it has been damaged during gardening, repair it. It may also be that the damage is not visible from the outside and, for example, a root is responsible for it. This problem is then much more difficult to locate and fix. Here, the location must be found by means of the exclusion procedure.
Step 4: Check wheels
If the wheels of your Worx robotic lawnmower are locked, it will not be able to move forward. Lift the robotic lawnmower a little on one side and try to turn the wheels by hand. If this works without significant resistance, then repeat this on the other side with the other wheels. Do the wheels not turn at all or only with resistance.
Step 5: Check schedule
Check if the schedule is correctly stored in the app. Even a small typo can prevent the Worx robotic lawnmower from moving away from the station. Often the easiest way is to delete the entire schedule and then create a new one.
Step 6: Check device lock
For some devices, a device lock or start lock can be set. If this is the case, then your Worx robotic lawnmower cannot start. Delete this device lock or start lock.
